Job Title: General Operative - Builders Merchant (May 2026)
Job Type: Full-time (including Saturdays)
About Us:
Grahams of Monaghan is a busy and growing builders’ merchant supplying building materials and products to the construction industry. We are currently looking for a hardworking and reliable General Operative to join our Building Materials Department.
The Role:
This is a hands-on role in a fast-paced environment, perfect for someone who enjoys practical work and is keen to learn new skills and product knowledge. You’ll be helping with the day-to-day running of the department and assisting customers when needed.
Main Duties:
- Loading and unloading materials.
- Picking and preparing customer orders.
- Keeping warehouse and yard areas organised and tidy.
- Helping customers with queries and product information.
- Operating forklifts and other equipment when required (training provided).
- Keeping the work area clean, safe, and well maintained.
Experience:
- Previous experience in a similar role is an advantage.
- Knowledge of building materials would be helpful.
- Full training will be provided.

- Able to work on your own initiative.
- Flexible and available to work Saturdays.
- Full clean driving licence preferred.
- This is a physical, hands-on role, so applicants should be fit and capable of manual work.
