About Us:

Grahams of Monaghan is a busy and growing builders’ merchant supplying building materials and products to the construction industry. We are currently looking for a hardworking and reliable Heating & Plumbing Counter Sales Assistant  to join our Building Materials Department.

The Role: 

Grahams of Monaghan is looking for an enthusiastic and experienced Heating & Plumbing Counter Sales Assistant to join our busy Heating & Plumbing department.

The successful candidate will play an important role in providing excellent customer service, offering product advice and supporting the day-to-day running of the department.

We're looking for someone with a good understanding of heating and plumbing products, strong communication skills and a positive, team-focused attitude.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist trade and retail customers with product enquiries, advice and purchases.
  • Provide knowledgeable recommendations on heating and plumbing products.
  • Process customer orders, prepare quotations and handle sales transactions accurately.
  • Respond to customer enquiries in person, by phone and by email.
  • Maintain a clean, organised and well-stocked department.
  • Monitor stock levels and assist with stock control, deliveries and stocktakes.
  • Liaise with suppliers to source products and fulfil customer requirements.
  • Work closely with colleagues to ensure the smooth and efficient running of the department.

Skills & Experience

  • Previous experience in heating and plumbing, builders' merchants or trade counter sales is highly desirable.
  • Good knowledge of heating and plumbing products and materials.
  • Excellent customer service and communication skills.
  • Strong organisational skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
  • Confident using computer systems for sales, quotations and order processing.
  • A proactive, reliable and flexible approach to work.
  • Willingness to learn and develop product knowledge.
